A youth Indigenous hockey academy opened its doors this week in Enoch Cree Nation just west of Edmonton. The organizers say it’s the first of its kind in the area. Twenty-five youth aged eight to 18 were skating and performing drills with former NHL player Jason Strudwick. For four days a week until mid-December the kids will on the ice, playing hockey virtually and in the gym learning new skills.
